Love is one of the very important things in teaching.With no love teaching is almost impossible.This is because love is one of the very essential human need.I can say Happiness and love are the to needs of human being and most of the time we are working for them .Due to that fact every human being has a language of love which when used the person respond,understand or become so happy. A person might also prefer other love languages but there is one which is most preferred by that person.These languages of love are as follows;
1.Gift giving and receiving.
People with this kind of love language tend to like gifts so much. Most of the time they become so happy when someone is giving them gift or when they give somebody gift. You may apply other languages but if you want your communication to be effective wih these kind of people then use gift to show your love to them.
In your class you will notice some students working very hard when you promise to give them something like stickers or any other kind of gift given in classes.As a teacher your communication with these students will most of the time being active if you will use this method effectively to them.Find some gifts and have them in your class so as to motivate this group.
2.Serving or being served.
These are the people who are active all the time serving people.They are so happy when they serve others.Also when you help them doing their works,you'll become very good friend of them.
I n your class you will also notice some students always want to help you either cleaning the board or arranging your things. Motivate students from this group by promising them that you will give them the chance to help you doing any activity if they do well their class works.Or you can use these student especially in group discussion to read groups and organize the class.
3.Touching or being touched .
If you are very careful when you talk to people,there are some people when you talk to them they all the time like to touch you or others. Whether it is giving hi five or pushing you,they are very happy when they touch somebody.
If you are the teacher( the real teacher not those who depend on sticks),it is not one or two times study your hand.There students who all the time want to touch you or others.Help and motivate these students by using touch language to make them learning.Example counting by touching their fingers or having games in class which encourage students to touch each other.
4.Attention seekers.
These are the people who value friendship.They just want a person they love to be there for them and it is not just to be there but to recognize their presence.
If you are not aware with this you will find these kind of students very stubborn.If you cant change their attention seeking strategies to be positive they can change to be student with discipline problem.You just need technical ignore if they do something negative but most of the time you are suppose to praise them when they do something which add to their learning.
IMPORTANT!!.
As a teacher make sure you understand all student in your class.This is one of the primary thing to do as a teacher because it will lead you with your teaching hence help students achieve their goals. Next time we will see why it is important to have few students in class!!.
