STEALING CHILDREN'S TIME

As a parent,have you noted  that among you two (dad and mom) there is more children attention to one parent than the other?. Have you realized that the behavior of one parent among you is copied much with children than the behavior of the other parent?. Have you ever asked yourself why that is happening and the consequences for that?.

Most of the time parents have been thinking that their responsibilities are just feeding the kids and sending them to school.They don't know that the most important thing to our children is dedicating part of our time to them. Due to this ignorance parents have been keeping stealing children time over and over.Now these are the consequences of parents stealing children time;  

• Children will not become what you want them to be. In order for kids to become what you want them to be it means they need to hear or see it from you.That means you are the one to teach them your preferences!. Now if you are most of the time not around,you can't expect them to know what you want from the sky!.
•  You are destroying your relationship with your kids. The parents, children relationship is not only naturally,but it also established. If you are not close to your kids and give them time,they will just recognize you as their biological mom or dad but they won't have real feeling for you as their parent.That is why children who have been raised with other parents who are not their biological father or mother,tend to prefer their guardians as parents over their biological parents.This is because there is a connection between them established by closeness and time they spent together.
•  
• They will copy other peoples behavior.Children are always copying other peoples lives especially adults.That means if you are not there they will copy the behavior of anyone around them.Unfortunately,most of the time when we are not around to our kids their peer friend are around them.Our kids tend to copy behavior of their friends which have been copied from their parents of course.If you are luck they might get good behavior from them,but if you are not then your kids might start  speaking bad languages and you will end up hitting them while it is your fault!. 
• Your position to your kids as parent won't seem to be equal among your kids. One parent might seem to be more important than the other.It might happen that you are working hard for your kids.Paying school fees,feeding them and buying clothes, but at the end of the day children see you as just normal person comparing to the other parent who most of the time stay with them. This is the reason why most of the time female parents are valued much with kids than male parents even when they become adults.

Those and others are examples of effects of stealing our children's time.Now if we want good development of our kids we are suppose to give them time to spend with us by doing the following;

• Make sure you spend your time at least 2hours a day with your kids. You think you know them,but you don't!. You think they know you,but they don't!. This time you spend with them will help both of you to know and understand each other hence creating good relationship.
• While you give them time listen to what they say and try to say yes to their demand.You want them to listen to what you are telling them! they need the same.Let your kids experience what it feels when somebody is listening to you because that is part of love and we need to show that to our kids.

• Tell them what you want them to do and why you want them to do that(teach them reasoning). Now you have the time to shape your kids! use it effectively.Ask the challenges they face,tell them what they can do when  they face such challenges.Check what they like to do the most because that will give you the clue of the right path for your kids.Help them what to do in order to achieve their goals.
